Drain repairs, excavation & patch lining in Whickham
Drain Repairs & Excavation in Whickham (including Gateshead and Blaydon): drain unblocking, jetting and CCTV surveys — Gas Safe where required, fixed quotes, PK Plumbing, 180+ reviews.
Properties around Whickham mix older and newer plumbing — pipe age rarely matches the house next door. In the local area we regularly handle boiler breakdowns, hidden leaks, blocked drains and heating that will not balance. Drain Repairs & Excavation here often means kitchen stacks, yard gullies or older clay — we match the method to the pipe, not a one-size rod pass. Including work toward Gateshead and Blaydon.
Emergency clearance still happens when sewage is backing up — but drain repairs & excavation callouts are quoted repair phases, not endless jetting on a broken pipe.
Why choose us
Fully insured drainage engineers; we explain dig vs patch vs liner in plain English before ground opens.
When you need structural drain repair in Whickham
We keep digs as small as the defect allows and reinstate paths, paving or turf properly — not a trench that sits open for weeks. You get a written scope before we open ground, and testing on completion so you know the line runs.
Lining isn’t universal: sometimes a short dig is cheaper, safer or more honest. We’ll tell you which option matches your pipe material, depth and insurance expectations.
Common questions in Whickham
- Do you cover all of Whickham, not just the centre?
- Yes — we work across Whickham and surrounding neighbourhoods with the same standards. Your job is matched to a local engineer. We also cover Gateshead and Blaydon on the same basis.
- Can you attend same day for emergencies in Whickham?
- We prioritise genuine emergencies — major leaks, burst pipes, and total loss of heating or hot water. Call for an honest arrival window. We also cover Gateshead and Blaydon on the same basis.
- Do you use CCTV on blocked drains in Whickham?
- Yes — when a blockage keeps returning or the cause is not obvious, we camera the line so you get proof before major work. We also cover Gateshead and Blaydon.
- Can you jet drains in Whickham, not just rod them?
- We carry high-pressure jetting kit with the right nozzles for kitchen waste, soil pipes and yard lines — rods alone are not always enough. We also cover Gateshead and Blaydon.
- Are quotes clear before you start in Whickham?
- We give written scopes for planned work upfront. For diagnostic jobs we explain what is included before we start so you can decide — no vague "turn up and see" pricing. We also cover Gateshead and Blaydon on the same basis.
Typical work we see in Whickham
- Repeat routes through Whickham mean we recognise common fault patterns and bring sensible parts first visit.
- Gas Safe discipline, tidy reinstatement, and clear paperwork — especially on family homes where access is tight.
- Taps, toilets, radiators and emergency callouts where water loss needs fast isolation — honest quotes before we open floors or walls.
Clearance first — repair when the pipe is damaged
This page is about excavation, patch repairs and lining after we know what’s wrong. If you’re fully blocked today, our blocked drain team in Whickham can restore flow as a separate emergency job — then we book repair with a proper scope.
Most repair quotes follow CCTV in Whickham so we’re not guessing underground. High-pressure drain jetting in Whickham clears soft blockages but doesn’t fix cracks or collapsed short lengths.
